(We have an older patron who comes into the library to use the Internet. She’s around 65 and not computer literate, so we help her out whenever she needs us.)

Patron: “Miss, could you help me? I don’t understand what is happening.”

Me: “What’s the problem?”

Patron: “I think I had a stroke or something!”

Me: “Oh my God, what do you feel?”

Patron: “Well, I can’t understand the words on the computer. It doesn’t make any sense! I’m so confused!”

(She seems fine, just aggravated, but I call over my co-worker who is in a nursing program.)

Facing the bed, standing at the foot, left hand side. I face my nightstand, left side, which is also towards the door to the bedroom. Very rarely can I fall asleep spooning or otherwise cuddling, but it is VERY nice on occasion. The usual amount of contact between me and Amanda is the buttocks. It's soft and comfy, and maintains a mentally satisfying amount of contact with my beloved as I fall asleep.

Of course.

5. How often? Lately?

I was grocery shopping the other day, and I realized something I miss.

Buying condoms.

Most people would have seen this as a chore they were happy to be rid of, and granted, it's nice not to have to strangle my soldier with a balloon when I feel like being intimate with my smokin' hot wife, but there's another factor.

When you bring condoms up to the register, the cashier notices. Having worked as one before, I will clarify that they ALWAYS notice. And if it's a slow moving line, everyone standing next to the belt notices. (I was never one for trying to bury them under other purchases.) Your access to romance explosion time was a matter of public knowledge.

Now, I don't have to get them anymore.

Just as little as two weeks ago he was still kicking asses and terrifying the youngsters.

Just as little as two weeks ago he'd still throw himself at the bars of the cage to hiss at the cats or the un-neutered foster males.

Just as little as two weeks ago he was still our perfect Cranky Old Man Rat.

He lived to be just over two years old. More than respectable for a feeder-stock rat.

He wasn't in any pain.

He just stopped responding to treatment.

The vet told us all the options.

The vet knew we understood what she was really saying.

The vet helped us let him go.
