When I was but five miles from the Canadian border...
I swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle, hit black ice, lost control, and ended up rolling over in the median of I-81.

I am fine, aside from one scrape.

The car is totalled.

Staying with Zippy until Sunday morning, when I woefully board an Amtrak back for Albany.

School starts for the semester on Monday, work resumes same day.

Fuck.

Chances are, because it was a roll-over, it'll automatically be counted as totalled. In which case they'll just give me Blue Book value for it (anywhere from 2-5K). No idea about details beyond that.

Actually, my dad and I drove down to NY state and picked him up at the wreckers just across the border. He's staying with me till Sunday (when we were planning on originally) and then we're gonna put him on the Amtrak train home.

All in all maybe he'll be here six less hours than we expected? So it worked out pretty nice. <3 *huggles*

Umm... not so much with the cutting short; since she and her dad came to pick me up at the auto yard my card got towed to. I'm getting on an Amtrak Sunday morning at 8:30.

So technically our visit is being shortened by about six hours, but we'll be having an extra night in Toronto, so it balances out.

I don't think I'll be getting behind the wheel of this car ever again. It's rolled, so it's pretty much a goner.

Driving in general... we'll see.
